Kolari Wooden Blinds
A stunning wood blind that stands out from the crowd
Available with or without decorative ladder tapes, we believe these blinds are the very best you can buy and here's why...
The key feature benefits of Kolari blinds are
- High quality Abatchi wood (see below)
- High quality working components
- High quality ladder strings, cords and toggles
- Stained slat edges coordinating to blind colour
- Larger sizes in width and drop available
The Abatchi tree is mainly grown around the tropical areas of West Africa mainly along waterways along the transition zone between humid evergreen and semi deciduous forests.
The timber has a white to pale straw appearance with a medium to coarse texture, typically interlocked giving it striped appearance. This is ideal for the blind industry as it gives an attractive grained appearance free from knotting.
Abatchi is the lightest utility hardwood available enabling larger blinds to be manufactured with less weight than other industry alternatives.
Abatchi is probably the most stable wood on the market. Nearly all of the moisture is dried out of the wood before priming which makes it highly resistant to warping and natural bending. Due to this characteristic Abatchi is widely used in the construction of Saunas.
The Abatchi wood grown for use in Kolari blinds is sourced from licensed forests in order to conserve and manage forestation throughout the world.
