Blinds

Blinds can be described as `window within a window` and serve the purpose to cover windows or doors. Usually, they are attached to the inner side of door or window. In simple terms, blinds serve the purpose of blocking the view or simply `blinding` the viewer. Along with the purpose of blocking the view, blinds are also used to block the sunlight and as such the heat during hot seasons and are extremely useful devices because they are economical and easy to use.Blinds come in numerous types and can be made up of many kinds of materials. The materials usually used for blinds are light metal and vinyl etc.Blinds can also be fabricated from cloth and wood. Most commonly used blinds are the slat blinds, which consist of flat and horizontal slates. These slats are interconnected through threads, which can cause the blinds to rotate, or pulled up and down. The ensuing movement causes the desired effects like decreasing sunlight or totally blocking the view.Blinds have been around for long time in history. They have been used in different kinds of window shades but the present model of blinds is sophisticated and highly specific.Blinds are of various types of which, slat blinds have horizontal blades. Most famous slat blinds are Venetian blinds. There are also solid blinds such as roller blinds. These blinds can be pulled or rolled down. Other than these, vertical blinds with large plates are very commonly used nowadays instead of curtains.Blinds are lightweight and fragile and that is why, they can get easily damaged unless they are made with quality strength and materials. Roller blinds

Roller Blinds are a type of the window blinds. Window blinds or window shades are used as devices that act as curtains or view blockers. The usage of one single piece of fabric gave it a lot of advantage over other different kinds of blinds.Roller Blinds were not as fragile as the slat blinds.Roller Blinds could be made of transparent, translucent or totally thick material depending on the place to be installed. They could be colored into any shade depending on the surroundings.Roller Blinds could be converted into delicate lace blinds by artistic usage of lace and linen on cloth. Nowadays, synthetic and vinyl roller blinds are flooding into the market because of multiple custom-made patterns and designs, which differ along with the various regions.Roller Blinds are robust but they can have some discrepancies such as heaviness, complete blocking of sunlight and any problem with inner spring. In all, roller blinds are another gem in the series of window blinds.

Wooden Blinds

Window shades play an important part in the interior decoration of a house or office building. Although numerous kinds of window blinds and shades are present in the market, but wooden blinds are the one that can be described as truly `decorating blinds`. The wooden blinds are a type of the slat blinds but have some difference from them. As the name indicates, wooden blinds are made of wood, which is cut as horizontal or vertical slats. These wooden slats are tied and interwoven through threading. Wooden blinds are also known as Venetian blinds because of their origination in Venice, Italy around 1760. The slats made of wood are of exceptionally high quality to survive harsh conditions. A slat usually has a breadth of about 50 to 100mm. The slat can either be polished or painted as required. More expensive wooden blinds have carving on exposed surfaces that make them really good to add to the beauty of surroundings. It does not matter in which room of the house they are installed. Whether it is in the bathroom, kitchen, bedroom, dining room, living room, office or conservatory, nothing beats the natural look and feel of a wooden blind. Wooden blinds bring that taste of the Mediterranean into any home or office like a beachside. In all, wooden blinds may serve as a nice addition to the interior decor of a home provided they are well taken care of.
