Black Roller Blinds
Ready to go over to the dark side? Black roller blinds make a seriously stylish statement. Bold, sleek and surprisingly versatile, black can frame a window beautifully and bring definition to interiors that need a little contrast. Keep things crisp with a plain black fabric, add depth through texture or choose a pattern that mixes black with lighter shades when a full block of colour feels a step too dramatic.
Our made-to-measure black roller blinds combine a strong look with plenty of practical options, including blackout fabrics for greater light control, or waterproof options for moisture-prone spaces. Every blind is made specifically for your window, giving the finished look clean lines and a neat fit.

How to style black roller blinds
A dark blind doesn't automatically mean a dark room. In a bright space with pale walls and plenty of natural light, black can provide the contrast that makes the window feel deliberately framed. If the room is smaller or naturally darker, balancing the blind with lighter walls, flooring and furniture can stop the overall scheme feeling too heavy.
Texture and pattern can soften things too. A woven black fabric catches the light differently from a completely smooth finish, while patterned designs bringing in white, cream or other colours break up the darker surface.
It's worth sampling black fabrics for exactly that reason. Their finish and texture can look surprisingly different as the light moves across them – and it's much easier to judge the effect when they're sitting next to your actual wall. Our free fabric samples make the job of choosing much simpler.
What goes with black roller blinds?
Short answer: most things. Black roller blinds combined with white gives you maximum contrast and a clean monochrome look. Grey colour palettes create something softer, while cream, beige and natural wood warm the whole decor scheme up considerably.
Black also gives brighter colours something to bounce off. Green, rust, pink, mustard and blue can all look stronger alongside black roller blinds, so there's no need to turn the entire room monochrome just because your window has gone to the dark side. For a more luxurious look, consider brass or gold accents. Or, for something industrial or contemporary, stick with cleaner lines and darker metal finishes.

Tailor your black roller blinds to your room
Now, a quick word about black roller blinds and blackout. They sound like they should be the same thing. They aren't. A dark-coloured fabric may naturally reduce visible light, but choosing a black blind doesn't give you blackout performance. If reducing incoming light is important – particularly in a bedroom – check that the blind is specifically described as blackout.
Where your blind is going should help guide the features and style you choose. For bathrooms and kitchens, a waterproof fabric is a practical choice that can handle moisture and everyday splashes. Elsewhere, living rooms and home offices can benefit from a fabric that gives you privacy without blocking out more daylight than you need.
Then decide how hands-on you'd like to be. Selected designs can be fitted using our no-drill Twist\&Fit system, while compatible motorised roller blinds can be operated without manually raising and lowering them.
