How do Twist&Fit shutters work?
The drill can sit this one out. Twist&Fit shutters use a tension system to secure the frame within a suitable window recess. There are tension screws located at multiple points around the shutter frame. Putting the made-to-measure frame inside the window recess and tightening the tension screws with an Allen key holds the frame in place. That’s all it takes!
Once fitted, you can tilt the slats to change the light and privacy, or swing the panels open to uncover the window. You get the familiar plantation shutter functionality – just a different, simpler way to fit it.

There’s still some assembly involved, including putting the frame together and fitting the panels, and note that Twist\&Fit Shutters are not compatible with stone, brick, or tiled wall surfaces. Why choose no-drill plantation shutters?
Though the tension screws do enter the wall, it leaves less evidence than a full drill installation would, and takes less effort too. Even if you don’t have power tools, or would avoid them if you could, Twist&Fit gives you another way to bring shutters into your home.
Choosing no-drill doesn’t mean missing out on other choices. There are colours, slat widths and real or faux wood finishes to explore, so you can style around your room as well as your fitting preferences.
Real wood offers genuine timber in painted and wood finishes. Moisture-resistant faux wood is a handy option for humid kitchens and bathrooms. Just remember that the fitting surface matters too: a suitable material for the room still needs a compatible recess.
Full-height or tier-on-tier Twist&Fit shutters?
Twist\&Fit shutters are available in two key styles. Keep things simple with full-height shutters, which cover the window from top to bottom. Tilt the slats for everyday light control and open each panel as one full-height section when you want the window clear.
Want to mix things up? Tier-on-tier shutters have separate upper and lower panels. Open the top to let daylight stream in while keeping the bottom closed for privacy. They’re especially handy in street-facing living rooms where you’d rather keep passing eyes off your sofa.

Twist\&Fit is designed for suitable recessed windows with compatible surfaces, including standard plaster, timber or painted recesses. It isn’t suitable for stone, brick or tiled surfaces, or for fitting outside the recess.
