It is best to measure for your recess using three measurements for the width and the drop, using the smallest of each as the final size.
When measuring to fit inside the recess, be aware of anything that may get in the way. If you have tiling or picture rails around the bottom of your recess, which is 20mm or less difference to the width across the top, we advise that you provide the measurement across the top for a nice, snug fit!
If your recess depth is 60mm or less or the window opens inwards, you'll be best off with an exact fitting. To do this please follow the 'Exact' measuring method in our measuring guide.
For the best results when measuring for an exact fitting, allow your blind to overlap the edges of the recess by at least 35mm on each side. We'll then make a blind for your exact measurements and ship it with the brackets, which will add another 3mm to the size you give us.

Additional Information:

The fabric width is 35-40mm narrower than the overall width of the blind to allow for any control component on the side of the tube (or 'cassette'). We always manufacture the full blind width and not fabric width. If you are fitting one of these blinds outside of the recess, you may want to consider measuring wider to allow for some fabric overlap.
We try to make the measuring and ordering process as simple as possible - so for a recess fitting, we only require the full size of your recess space and we will make small adjustments to enable the blind to fit within that space. We make a 3mm deduction to the width of Roller blinds. If you wish to make your own allowances and do not require us to make them, please select exact fitting and not recess during the order process.
If you are fitting a roller blind inside of a recess and wish to mount the brackets to the sides of the recess (opposed to the lintel or window frame), please make sure that you measure across the top of the recess and select 'exact' instead of 'recess' to allow for this particular type of mounting (otherwise 'top' or 'face' fixing is an alternative option).

How does the motorised blind work?

Will this blind blackout my room?

Blackout fabric blocks 100% of direct light through the material, but small side gaps can let in minimal light.

For maximum darkness, pair with curtains in front of the recess.

Will my window be suitable for Twist&Fit?

Twist&Fit needs a recessed window with a minimum recess depth of 52mm and fits within the recess only.

How do I clean my roller blind?

Dust or vacuum with a soft brush, then wipe gently with a damp cloth and let it air-dry (take extra care with blackout/textured fabrics).

Roller blinds are supplied as standard with a sidewinder control unit. The operation is through a white plastic beaded chain used to raise and lower.
All blinds are mounted on a strong aluminium tube – 32mm in diameter. We introduce a 40mm tube for larger blinds where necessary.
All brackets are painted white over metal – 45mm width x 65mm length.
The bottom finish of the blind will be a straight finish. This will be finished with either a ‘stitched bottom pocket’ or a heat welded seam, with a plastic bottom lathe, dependent on the suitability of the fabric.
Please note that the cloth width is 3.5 - 4cm narrower than the overall cassette width to allow for the control component. We always manufacture based on full blind width, not fabric width.
All items are cut to size and will be accurate with working tolerances and variances of +/-5mm.
All our blinds are manufactured and supplied to be compliant with child safety regulations. As part of this compliance, all control cords and chains will be made to a maximum of 1 metre. If you need to discuss this, please contact us.
All roller blinds are produced with extra fabric added to the drop ordered. This is to ensure that there is enough material to conceal the metal tube when the blind is full down/closed. This is normal and standard practice throughout the industry.

On Standard Roller Finishes, Fixtures & Fittings

All blinds are mounted on a strong aluminium tube – 32mm in diameter. We introduce a 40mm tube for larger blinds where necessary.
Choose your chain type, from durable plastic to stylish chrome. The ball will be 4.5mm.
All brackets are painted white over metal – 45mm width x 65mm length.
The ball chains are 4.5mm in size.
The bottom finish of the blind will be a straight finish. This will be finished with either a ‘stitched bottom pocket’ or a heat welded seam, with a plastic bottom lathe, dependent on the suitability of the fabric choice.
All items are cut to size and will be accurate with working tolerances and variances of +/- 5mm.
Roller blinds with a width greater than 180cm and a drop greater than 164cm MAY have a horizontal seam due to fabric width / design.
Cloth width is 3.5— 4cm narrower than the overall bracket to bracket (exact) width to allow for the control components.
The chain drops come as an endless loop with a safety P clip. The sizes for these are as follows:-

Twist&Fit Roller Blinds

These blinds are designed as a drill-free, screw-free solution for fitting roller blinds. Brackets are not required, and you can fit these blinds in a matter of seconds.
Available under the “recess” fitting option only under the relevant products.
Twist Fit Roller blinds are supplied as standard with a sidewinder control unit. The operation is through a 4.5mm chrome beaded chain used to raise and lower.
These roller blinds are produced the same way as a standard roller, though unlike roller blinds the tolerance of -5mm is not made for the recess due to the adjustability of the fitting.
The twist cog can be used to adjust the tension.

On Twist&Fit Roller Finishes, Fixtures & Fittings

Twist&Fit Unit is made from POM & PEM materials. This provides a durable, moisture-resistant component.
The Twist End at its largest point (the cog wheel) has a width of 5.1cm | The external pad is 4.1cm width & height. | The distance from the end of the piece to the roller tube is 3.5cm, and when compressed at is smallest is 1.9mm to the tube.
Sidewinder End is provided with a chain cover. Please do not attempt to remove this cover.
The sidewinder end at its largest point is 5.1cm width & 6.4cm height.
Only available on a 32mm diameter tube.
All items are cut to size and will be accurate with working tolerances and variances of +/- 5mm.
