Homemade Festive Additions in Less Than an Hour

Tips

If you want to transform your home into your dream winter wonderland this Christmas, then there’s a few great craft ideas that you can add to the mix. Take a look, give some of them a try, and let us know which ones you decided to make fixtures in your home this Christmas.

Hessian Streamers

If you want to add something a little different to the Christmas tree this year, then hessian may just be the answer. Combining thin strips of hessian with matt tinsel is a great way to take some of the modern shine off your tree, and give it more of a rustic meets country vibe. Ideal if you love that kind of look.

Wooden Snowmen

All you need for this are a couple of thin log slices and some wood glue. Find a body for your snowman and a nice round head, and then stick them on top of one another so that it looks like a figure of eight. Add a few sticks for arms, draw on a face with some felt tips, and knit a little scarf if you want to.

Knit a Winter Blanket

Okay, so this may take a little longer than an hour, but there’s nothing more homely at this time of year than snuggling up under a winter blanket. Hang it over the back of your favourite armchair when you’re not using it, and it’ll help breathe some new life into the heart of your home.

Forest Inspirations

A jar full of pine cones is such a simple thing to put together, and it’s a great way to add some natural colour to any room in the house. Put a mason jar on the side table in the hallway and you’ll be able to set the tone for the rest of the house.
