Give Your Home That Autumn Feeling

Inspiration

Posted 15/11/2018

Summer has been and gone, the world cup is a distant memory, and winter is fast approaching. You may feel a bit sad about having to move out of the conservatory and put your patio furniture away for another year, but there’s plenty of new options on the horizon.

Take a look at these stunning ways to give your home that autumn feeling so you can find the spark of inspiration you’ve been searching for.

Fresh Flowers Can Be Replaced With Dried Leaves

The beauty of autumn is that it creates so many eye-catching shades of yellow and brown. On a dry day why not go out and pick some leaves that have recently fallen in the garden. Dry them out by the radiator and then fill a couple of glass bowls so that you have a great seasonal alternative to fresh cut flowers. Replace them once a week so you can keep up with all the different colours and shades you see when you look out of the window.

Add Some Seasonal Artwork to the Lounge

If you find your mood dips a little now that the sun has gone away then perhaps you need to vary your artwork. A picture of a summer beach scene could easily be replaced with a nice autumnal landscape. Ideal if you want to start incorporating the rich wealth of seasonal colours into your decor.

Get the Lamps and Fairy Lights on Early Every Evening

Bright overhead lighting can really overpower a room when the nights draw in. By getting your lamps and fairy lights on as dusk approaches you can soften the transition from light to dark that happens so fast at this time of year.

It’ll also add a soft and cosy feel to the living room that means you’ll feel nice and snug in front of the fire.
