  • If your recess depth is 60mm or less or the window opens inwards, you'll be best off with an exact fitting. For recesses bigger than 60mm it's really just a matter of personal taste.
  • When measuring to fit inside the recess, check for anything such as tiling or picture rails that could get in the way and take them into account when measuring. We normally advise just to measure between any tiling so as to ensure a nice, snug fit.

 

Additional Information:

  • Wooden Venetian blinds are available in either 35mm, 50mm or 63mm slat sizes so please take this in to consideration when thinking about the placement of your blind - especially when fitting inside a recess. If your recess depth is 60mm or less or the window opens inwards, you may want to fit outside the recess, depending on the slat size chosen.
  • We try to make the measuring and ordering process as simple as possible - so for a recess fitting, we only require the full size of your recess space and we will make small adjustments to enable the blind to fit within that space.  We make a 10mm deduction to the width of Wooden Venetians. If you wish to make your own allowances and do not require us to make them, please select exact fitting and not recess during the order process.

  • If you are still unsure about your measurements then don't worry, just put your mind at ease and consider adding our 'MeaSUREguard' protection to your order. Is recess or exact size most suitable for my window?

For fitting inside the window opening, select Recess; for outside fitting, select Exact. If unsure, see our measuring guide.

What are the controls on wooden blinds?

Wooden blinds let you control light two ways: the left tilt cord adjusts slat angle, and the right raise cords raise or lower the blind.

What is a pelmet?

A pelmet is a PVC cover for the headrail, colour-matched to your blind, and easy to attach after fitting. Fit using the supplied fixtures or velcro tabs.

When ordering wood venetian blinds for a bay window, will the slats naturally align?

At 247 Blinds, we aim to align all slats on similar drops, please call us before ordering and we’ll do our best to ensure it.

What material are faux wooden blinds made from?

Faux wooden blinds are PVC slats that look like real wood. They're durable, waterproof, flame-retardant, and easy to clean—ideal for any room.

Are screws/rawl supplied with wooden blinds?

We supply the brackets, but not screws or rawl plugs. Most locations need 15–25 mm self-tapping screws with good rawl plugs.

How accurate are the images for wooden blinds?

Our team aim to recreate colours and textures accurately, but screens and devices may vary the results — order a FREE SAMPLE to be sure.

Do these blinds come with tapes?

If you choose our Deluxe product, it comes with 25mm water-resistant cotton tapes, colour-matched to the slats for a neat finish.

  • Decorative cotton ladder tapes are available in 25mm width on our Deluxe range.
  • Faux wooden blinds are provided with up to 9 ladders at the largest available size for ample support & durability.
  • Decorative colour co-ordinated wooden control toggles. The raise control will have 1 toggle, whilst the tilt will have 2 smaller toggles.
