247 Pro Tips:

If your recess depth is 100mm or less or the window opens inwards, you'll be best off with an exact fitting. This is to allow for the fitting of the blind and the external battery pack which is clippied to the back of the headrail). For recesses bigger than 60mm it's really just a matter of personal taste.
When measuring to fit inside the recess, check for anything such as tiling or picture rails that could get in the way and take them into account when measuring. We normally advise just to measure between any tiling so as to ensure a nice, snug fit.
For the best results when measuring for an exact fitting, allow your blind to overlap the edges of the recess by at least 35mm on each side. We'll then make a blind for your exact measurements and ship it with the brackets which will add an additional 3mm to the size you give us.

Additional Information:

Wooden Venetian blinds are available in 50mm slat size, so please take this in to consideration when thinking about the placement of your blind - especially when fitting inside a recess. If your recess depth is 100mm or less or the window opens inwards, you may want to fit outside the recess, as you will need a clearance of at least 40mm behind the headrail to fit the external battery pack.
We try to make the measuring and ordering process as simple as possible - so for a recess fitting, we only require the full size of your recess space and we will make small adjustments to enable the blind to fit within that space. We make a 10mm deduction to the width of Wooden Venetians. If you wish to make your own allowances and do not require us to make them, please select exact fitting and not recess during the order process.

What are the control options for motorised wooden blinds?

All motorised wooden blinds come with a wireless remote to tilt the slats on your blind and the option to pre-set a preferred tilt stop position, this remote also allows you to lower and raise the blind with the touch of a button so theirs no need for any cords on the blind making it super child friendly!

Are chargers provided?

Chargers are not supplied with this blind as they do not need charging regularly, you can find them under motorised blind accessories or wait until you have added the product to your basket and you will get a pop up with the option.

How often will I need to charge my motorised blinds?

Motorised blinds will need charging around every 11 months, your motorised blind will have a removable and rechargeable battery pack at the top of the headrail so you can easily detach and connect it to the charger.

Can I operate the blind via a hub or app?

Yes, if you want to control your blinds away from home we offer smart hubs over on our motorised blind accessories page which comes with an app you can download, giving you the ability to control your blinds anywhere, anytime!

I am thinking about ordering motorised wooden blinds, how do I know if recess or exact size is the best match for my window?

If you are fitting the blind inside your window frame then the option for you would be (Recess) If you are wanting the blind to sit outside of the window frame this would be (Exact), If you are still unsure view our measuring guide.

Are screws/rawl plugs provided with my motorised wooden blind?

No, we do not provide screws/rawl plugs with motorised wooden blinds due to the variation in areas the blinds are fixed too.

Are the images a good representation of the motorised wooden blinds?

Yes, although different screens and resolutions may show the colour or texture slightly differently, we suggest using our FREE SAMPLE service and order your favourite designs so you can compare the colours and textures at home.

When ordering wood venetian blinds for a bay window, will the slats naturally align?

At 247 we do our utmost to try to ensure that all slats align, however, please give us a call when you are ready to place your order and our friendly staff will guarantee this happens for you.

On Measuring

• 35mm Headrail is colour-coordinated and measures 42mm Depth x 42mm height.

• 35mm Box brackets are colour-coordinated and measures 50mm depth x 47mm height.

• 50mm Headrail is colour-coordinated and 59mm Depth x 42mm height.

• 50mm Box brackets are colour-coordinated and 65mm depth x 47mm height.

• H-Shaped basswood bottom bar. However, on our real-wood gloss, this is instead a trapezoid. Colour co-ordinated.

• All items are cut to size and will be accurate with working tolerances and variances of +/-5mm.

Pelmet

• A contoured shaped pelmet will cover your headrail. This is colour-coordinated to your chosen slat colour and, if you have a fine grain, will match this effect.

• On a 35mm slat the pelmet size is 6mm depth x 51mm height.

• On a 50mm slat the pelmet size is 7mm depth x 64mm height.

• The pelmet is made to suit the type of fitting. For a recess fitting, the pelmet is made to the width ordered so it sits inside the recess. For an 'exact' fitting, the pelmet is made 3cm wider with mitred edges to cover the brackets.

Other

• The number of ladders or tapes shown in the images are for illustration purposes only. The width of blind ordered will determine how many tapes are a part of the blind.

• The blinds may be made with 2-3 extra slats on the bottom to ensure full coverage of the window.

• Blinds with 3 or more ladders will have a centre support bracket, with up to 4 support brackets at maximum width.

• All our blinds are manufactured and supplied to be compliant with child safety regulations. As part of this compliance, all control cords and chains will be made to a maximum of 1 metre. If you need to discuss this, please contact us.

Motorisation

• The specification for this product is the same as above, with variation for the specialist motorised option stated below.

• Motorised Wooden Venetian blinds are supplied as standard with a Somfy motorised control unit on the right-hand side to control the operation of the blind (raise/lowering and/or tilting of the slats depending on the operation type).

• Where the operation is 'Tilt Only', the raise/lower operation is made through use of a cord control which is positioned on the right-hand side of the blind. If operation is for 'Tilt & lift', there is no raise/lower cord.

• The motorised operation is through a remote control unit — 1 single channel remote supplied with each blind.

• The unit is powered by an external rechargeable Lithium-ion battery pack (adding approx. 40mm to the back of the headrail), where one hour charge will provide 11 months of average use. The blinds are delivered uncharged and will need fully charging before first use. Battery chargers are not supplied as standard.

• Compatible with 'Smart Home' Hubs allowing control via smartphone apps and voice control devices. Motorised Blind Hubs are available from our accessories section.

WARNING

Young children can be strangled by loops in pull cords, chains, tapes and inner cords that operate the product.

Cords may become wrapped around a child’s neck. Move beds, cots, and furniture away from window covering cords.

Do not tie cords together. Make sure cords do not twist and create a loop.

Motorised blinds with 'Raise/Lower' or 'Tilt & Raise/Lower' operation will be supplied without any control cords. Motorised blinds with 'Tilt Only' operation are supplied with a control cord for Raise/Lower operation. As part of child safety compliance, any and all cords provided with our products will be made at a maximum length of one metre.
