5 Ways to Use Twine in Your Home

Tips

We know. We love twine too. It’s simple, it’s rustic, and it’s cheap, making it the perfect home accessory for those in love with the country look! But where to use it? And how? Here are five ways to include this versatile accessory in your home.

1. Wrapped glass bottles

If you have any empty glass bottles, from wine or beer or even a jam jar, then try wrapping twine around them. Start from one end – and you may find using a glue stick can help – and simply wrap from the other, cutting and tucking the ends of the twine.

2. Photo displays

A simple way to display photos, without spending a bunch of money on expensive frames, is to hang a length of twine vertically from your wall and space your pictures out evenly along the twine, attaching with tiny craft pegs (which are usually cheap as chips and available from craft shops). It’s worth avoiding this in any room with a lot of moisture, as your photos don’t have any actual protection.

3. Celebration card lines

Birthday and Christmas cards can often use up valuable surface space and even then you may be left unable to see the front of the cards properly! By hanging a line of twine across the window, or even just a part of the wall, you can sit the crease of the card over the twine and display your cards with ease.

4. Wrapped handles

Cupboard and drawer handles can be given a brand new makeover by simply wrapping some twine around them to give them that rustic vibe. Wrap them tight and tuck in at each end to avoid the twine coming loose.

5. Crochet

If you crochet, or even knit, doing so with twine can leave you with some beautifully rustic items for your home. Crochet a coaster or placemat or even a hanging ornament, in any shape you like. Cheap and cute!
