Perfect Fit Blind Guide
It's not perfect unless it fits - your Perfect Fit© bind questions answered!
Perfect Fit blinds are here to transform your windows with their revolutionary design and stylish variations. This guide will answe some of the most commonly asked questions about this unique blind style. Read on to discover everything you need to know about Perfect Fit blinds, from their installation process to the multitude of benefits they offer.
What are Perfect Fit Blinds?
Perfect Fit blinds are innovative window coverings designed to fit snugly into the frame of your uPVC and aluminium windows or doors, without the need for drilling or screws. Whitout the classic headrail you are familiar with, they offer a sleek, clean look and easy clip 'n' fit installation. This system allows blinds to move together with windows and doors, giving the appearance that they are built in to your window frames.
How do Perfect Fit Blinds work?
Perfect Fit blinds use small brackets that fit between the glass and rubber beading of your window, instead of requiring the classic brackets that need to be screwed into your walls. The frame for the blinds clips into these brackets, providing easy installation and a bespoke "built-in" look. There's a whole array of colours to match any decor, from crisp whites, to more gentle and subtle creams or bold blacks.
Are Perfect Fit blinds suitable for bathrooms?
The best Perfect Fit blind for humid environments, would be the aluminium Venetian-style blinds, as these are all treated to be rust resistant. Alternatively, our Perfect Fit Shutters are made from waterproof polysilk vinyl, making them perfect for directly wet environments.
Are Perfect Fit blinds suitable for bi-fold doors?
Perfect Fit blinds vary in depth depending on the selected sub-type. Pleated or metal Venetian blinds have a very slim profile, whilst wooden blinds and shutters tend to require more room to fit. With all Perfect Fit blinds you also need rool to tilt them, 26mm clearance around the window edges for the frame, and extras for any components such as handles. Because of this, they might not work for your bi-fold doors.
All is not lost! We can recommend measuring the depth between the doors to see if you can fit our alternative Clip Fit or Stick Fit no-drill blinds which generally have slimmer projections. Contact our customer service team for more information.
What is the difference between pleated and honeycomb Perfect Fit blinds?
The Perfect Fit honeycomb blind is similar to the pleated blind, but there are a few key differences. Pleated Perfect Fits are a single layer of pleated fabric (known as a plissé) that gives you a simple yet effective shade for privacy and light control, naturally these blinds do offer some thermal benefits due to their close proximity to the window acting as an air trap and creating an insulative barrier. The honeycomb style takes these thermal benefits up a notch, as it is two layers of material arranged in a hexagonal, comb-like structure which creates an insulating trap of air between your room and window. This option is fantastic for keeping your room nice and comfortable in the winter, and cool during the summer months. You can rest assured you have an extra layer of protection whilst this clever blind works to keep your energy bills down as a nice bonus!
Can Perfect Fit blinds damage my windows?
Unlike conventional blinds, Perfect Fit blinds don't require drills or screws to fit, instead using your window beading as an anchor. This means that these blinds would not damage the wall, unlike traditional blinds and fitting methods.
As this blind does have to use your window's beading, it's important that your window is suitable and features a compressible beading type with enough depth to support it. Please refer to our measuring guides and specifications for more information and keep in mind these specifications differ between Perfect Fit blinds and Perfect Fit shutters.
Can I still open my windows with Perfect Fit blinds?
One of the great features of a Perfect Fit blind is that you are still able to open and operate your windows with the blind installed. You can also leave the blinds closed for improved privacy control whilst still getting some fresh air into your space.
Since most of our Perfect Fit blinds are tensioned within the frame, you can move the blind to get precise and fully controllable levels of light and privacy, with 'multizone' top-down bottom-up control options on our range of Perfect Fit pleated blinds allowing you to open the blind from either end.
What are the benefits of Perfect Fit blinds over regular blinds?
One of the main benefits of going for a Perfect Fit over a regular blind is that you don't need any power tools or specialist equipment to fit an install them. This makes the blind great for rental properties, as they won't leave any holes in the walls that might stop you from getting your deposit back.
You can also fit a Perfect Fit blind to a tilt-and-turn window, enabling you to cover the glass whilst still letting a fresh breeze inside. As this blind type fits flush to the glass, you'll find they are more effective insulators against heat loss than traditional blind types. If you have a uPVC door or window, these blinds along with Clip Fit and Stick Fit are the best options we'd recommend.
Can I get a perfect fit blind without a frame?
Perfect Fit blinds require their framework to utilise their no-drilling fitting methid, as the blinds need support to stay in place/
For a similar style of blind without the framework, Clip Fit and Stick Fit blinds use top and bottom rails with two slim side channels instead of a full surrounding frame.
Will the blinds sag over time?
You shouldn't get issues with sagging with your Perfect Fit blinds, as they are supported by their framework. Sagging can sometimes occur if the blinds are over-tensioned, so it is worth ensuring you always provide some give when tensioning your blinds as well as making sure to follow all instructions carefully.
