How to Make the Most of Your Conservatory

Tips

Posted 19/09/2018

With one of the hottest summers on record predicted to last well into October there are homes up and down the land making more use of their conservatories than ever before. To make sure you can do the same, why not take a look at a few of our top tips?

Give yourself a break from the sun

With a set of blinds you’ll be able to open the windows for a breeze whilst sitting back and enjoying some shade. Conservatories are great fun, but if you’re sat in direct sunlight behind a wall of windows all day then you’re going to roast. Give yourself a little bit of rest in the shade and you’ll be all the better for it.

Add a small home entertainment system

What you really want to do is turn the conservatory into your second lounge or living room. By adding a TV and a streaming stick you’ll be able to watch a movie as the sun goes down whilst flicking between the screen and the amazing view. What could be better than that?

Make your seating homely

Conservatory furniture is comfy enough, but don’t settle for having yours look exactly like it did in the showroom or catalogue. Add a few scatter cushions and hang a throw over the back to create that homely country look that’s in right now.

Coffee tables are a must

A coffee table is the perfect centrepiece for any room in which you want to make your guests feel instantly at home. A couple of well chosen books or a few magazines and you’ll have turned your prized after extension into your summer living room.

Make a space for the pets

If you want to get the whole family in there then why not reserve a corner just for the pooch? Get him another basket or a big comfy beanbag and he’ll follow you in there to chill out whenever the mood takes him. Ideal for creating that homely vibe that no conservatory should be without.
