Measuring for replacement vertical blind slats is quick and simple:
1. Measure the width of your slats
Check these slats will be suitable by measuring the width of one existing slat, this should be 89mm (3.5").
2. Measure the drop (length)
Measure from the very top of the slat (the material) down to the bottom point of the slat. This is the exact length you need.
3. Count your slats
If replacing all slats, count how many you currently have so you can order the same amount.
That’s it — once you have your width, drop, and quantity, you’re ready to order your replacement vertical blind slats.
Fitting replacement vertical blind slats is quick and straightforward:
1. Unpack your slats
Lay out your new vertical blind slats on a clean surface and check you have all components, including the bottom weights and stabilising chain.
2. Insert the bottom weights
• Slide a bottom weight into the pocket at the base of each slat.
• Make sure it is fully pushed in so it sits evenly and securely.
3. Attach the stabilising chain
Clip the stabilising chain onto the top of the small arms on each bottom weight. Each weight has a small clip point designed for the chain to sit securely in place.
• This links the slats together and helps keep them evenly spaced
• If your blind is a split stack (split draw), the chain will need to be cut at the centre point where the slats separate, so each side can operate independently
4. Hang the slats
• Clip each slat onto your existing vertical blind carriers using the double-hole hanger at the top of each slat.
• Make sure each slat is hanging straight and aligned.
5. Check operation
Once all slats are fitted:
• Rotate the slats to ensure smooth movement
• Draw the blind open and closed to confirm everything runs freely
• Adjust any slats if needed for even spacing
Vertical blind slats, also known as vanes, are the individual fabric strips that hang from your existing vertical blind track. They rotate to control light and privacy and can be easily replaced to refresh the look of your blinds without replacing the full system.
Our vertical blind slats are designed to be compatible with most standard vertical blind tracks. Each slat comes complete with a double-hole hanger, allowing slight height adjustment to help suit different headrail systems.
Yes! Fitting new slats is simple, once your old slats are removed, just hook the new ones onto your existing track hangers.
A double-hole hanger features two connection points at the top of the slat, allowing you to adjust the hanging height slightly. This makes the slats more versatile and suitable for use with a wide range of existing vertical blind tracks.
Our vertical blind slats come with double-hole hangers, bottom weights, and stabilising chains as standard.
Replacement slats are a quick, cost-effective, and eco-friendly way to refresh your blinds. You'll reuse your current headrail and brackets, saving money and reducing waste - all while enjoying a completely new look.
No, our replacement blind slats make things quick and easy. Simply unhook your old vanes, and attach the new ones to your existing track - no need to measure, drill, or re-install a new headrail.
