3 Ways to Give Your Home That Autumn Feeling

Well, the colder months are on their way, and with them come Christmas (yes, we’re mentioning that word already!) and cosiness. We all love our homes to reflect the seasons – light and airy during the summer, warm and cosy during the winter – so here are a few ways to give your home that autumn feeling, ready to transport you from summer to autumn, right through to winter.

1. Create an autumnal display

Use a vase or a bowl that you already have to create a pretty display that won’t cost you a penny! Simply fill your glass container with pine cones or long twigs and place it on the mantelpiece or coffee table. This could also be a great activity to get the kids involved in! After all, you’ll want some help gathering those pine cones…

2. Get out the heavy throws

If you don’t have throws or blankets around during the summer months, you’re sure to want them now. Add a few woollen blankets or chenille throws to your couches and chairs to not only give the room a cosy and welcoming feel, but to pull over you during those cooler evenings.

3. Treating your living room to some ambience lightling

Nothing says cosy night in like some carefully placed candles and dimly lit lamps. You may not have needed them so much during the summer, but as the days get shorter, you certainly do now. Light your living room with lamps and the occasional large church candle (safely, of course) for a warm, homely ambience.
