247 Pro Tips:
- If your recess depth is 60mm or less or the window opens inwards, you'll be best off with an exact fitting. For recesses bigger than 60mm it's really just a matter of personal taste.
- When measuring to fit inside the recess, check for anything such as tiling or picture rails that could get in the way and take them into account when measuring. We normally advise just to measure between any tiling so as to ensure a nice, snug fit.
- For the best results when measuring for an exact fitting, allow your blind to overlap the edges of the recess by at least 35mm on each side. We'll then make a blind for your exact measurements and ship it with the brackets which will add an additional 3mm to the size you give us.
Additional Information:
- The fabric width is 35-40mm narrower than the overall width of the blind to allow for any control component on the side of the tube (or 'cassette'). Please note that the bottom rail is 1cm wider than the fabric at either side, due to the end caps required to hold the rail in place. We always manufacture the full blind width and not fabric width. If you are fitting one of these blinds outside of a recess, you may want to consider measuring wider to allow for some fabric overlap.
- We try to make the measuring and ordering process as simple as possible - so for a recess fitting, we only require the full size of your recess space and we will make small adjustments to enable the blind to fit within that space. We make a 5mm deduction to the width of this blind. If you wish to make your own allowances and do not require us to make them, please select exact fitting and not recess during the order process.

What are day and night blinds?
Day and night blinds are a modern blind style made from alternating sheer and dimout horizontal fabric panels. By adjusting these layers, you can easily switch between light filtering (day) and increased privacy (night).
How do day and night blinds work?
They operate like a roller blind using a side chain or motorised control. As you raise or lower the blind, the fabric layers move to align either sheer or solid panels, giving you flexible control over light and privacy.
Are day and night blinds blackout?
No, they are not fully blackout. While they offer excellent light control, small gaps between the fabric strips mean some light may still pass through.
Can I line up the panels for a striped effect?
Yes. The design allows you to position the blind so the panels align to create a striped look, or overlap fully for more privacy.
Will multiple blinds in the same room match up?
Yes, if ordered at the same time with the same drop, they will align when positioned at the same height. For different window sizes, alignment will match to the smallest drop.
Should I choose recess or exact fitting?
Recess fit: inside the window frame.
Exact fit: outside the window (onto the wall).

Will the top roll of the blind be visible?
You can choose between an open cassette (standard), where the roll is visible, or upgrade to a closed cassette to conceal the roll for a neater finish.
How does a motorised day and night blind work?
Motorised operation removes the need for a control chain. Simply use the included remote control to raise, lower, or stop the blind smoothly at your preferred position.
Does a motorised blind need charging?
The motor is powered by a rechargeable built-in lithium-ion battery, so no wiring is required. A full charge typically lasts for months with normal daily use and can be recharged using a USB-C cable (charger sold separately).

Yes. Motorised options remove the need for cords, making them a safer choice for homes with children and pets. Chain-operated blinds also include child safety devices.

Fabric & Operation
- Day & Night fabric is designed to finish in the “night position” when fully lowered (opaque stripes aligned).
- Exact stripe alignment across multiple blinds cannot be guaranteed, as individual blind drops may vary.
- Fabric width is typically 3.5–4 cm narrower than the overall cassette width; blinds are always manufactured to the full blind width, not the fabric width.

- White open cassette headrail supplied as standard (approx. 65 mm high × 65 mm wide).
- Optional white painted closed cassette (approx. 65 mm high × 72 mm projection).
- Matching V-shaped encased bottom bar completes the look.
- Optional Deluxe upgrade: open or closed cassette in white, anthracite or black, with colour-matched bottom bar and end caps.
- High-grade aluminium fascia profiles help reduce light seepage from above the roller tube.

Safety
- Smooth, controlled operation: Standard sidewinder mechanism provides effortless raise-and-lower action via a white plastic beaded chain.
- Fully child-safe: All control chains are supplied with a D-clip / tie-down safety device and are manufactured to a maximum of 1 m or two-thirds of the blind drop (whichever is shorter) to meet current child-safety regulations.
WARNING
Young children can be strangled by loops in pull cords, chains, tapes and inner cords that operate the product.
To avoid strangulation and entanglement, keep cords out of the reach of young children.
Cords may become wrapped around a child’s neck. Move beds, cots, and furniture away from window covering cords.
Do not tie cords together. Make sure cords do not twist and create a loop.
