Breathe New Life into Every Room in the House: Part 5 – The Playroom

Tips

Posted 29/08/2018

Every room needs a mini-makeover now and again! There’s no need to spend a fortune every time you want to update a room; often it’s the littlest touches that can make the difference. Plus, they’re fun to implement and don’t take too much of your precious time and energy!

There’s no room more fun to update than the playroom, is there? It’s already full of fun, bright colours from all of your children’s toys and furniture. But it never hurts to make it an even cheerier room for you and your kids to be in. Here’s how to liven it up just a little:

  • Make some fun loungers. Grab yourself some fun, colourful pillowcases and stitch them together to create a great lounger for your kids to use when they’re watching TV or playing games. They’re great for sleepovers too. And, when they’re not being used or need washing, simply remove the pillows for easy storage!

  • Change up the wall art. We don’t realise how much of an impact wall art has on a room until we change it! Swapping out or adding some posters can make all the difference to a room. Search online for some fun printables to keep your costs to a minimum!

  • Make a gallery wall. Get your wall décor for free by creating a gallery wall for all your kids’ artwork! It’s a great way of showing off their talents, letting them know how proud you are of their work, and adding some unique life to the room.

  • Paint a mural. This might be a more time-consuming project than some of our other tips, but it’s one that you can easily get the kids involved in. You don’t need to be a particularly talented artist to make this work – that’s what stencils and templates are for!
