Why settle for off-the-shelf when you can have made-to-measure? Our made-to-measure shutters give your windows a tailored finish, with adjustable slats to get the light and privacy just right.

From classic plantation shutters to clever no-drill options, there are plenty of ways to shutter a window. Choose full-height shutters for complete coverage, cafe-style shutters when you want privacy without covering the whole window, or tier-on-tier designs that let you control the top and bottom sections independently. And then the fun bit – making them yours with a choice of colours, finishes and real or faux wood.

Fitting these clever shutters doesn't have to mean getting the drill out either. Our Twist\&Fit and PerfectFit shutters offer no-drill alternatives for suitable windows, making that polished shutter look even easier to achieve. Explore our full made-to-measure shutters collection, get yourself some free samples to find your favourite finish, and get ready to give your windows the treatment they deserve.

Full Height Plantation Shutters

Our full-height plantation shutters cover the window from top to bottom for a neat, consistent finish. Tilt the slats to change the light and privacy as the day goes on, or open the panels when you want the window clear. Choose real or faux wood in a range of colours.

Cafe Style Plantation Shutters

Cafe-style shutters cover the lower half of the window and leave the top open to the daylight. They're ideal for street-facing rooms where you want to keep passing eyes off your sofa, without losing the light from above.

Tier-on-Tier Plantation Shutters

Can't decide between privacy and daylight? Tier-on-tier shutters have separate upper and lower panels that open independently. Keep the bottom closed and open the top, switch it round, or open the lot. Your window, your rules.

PerfectFit Shutters

Love the look of shutters but not keen on drilling your window frames? PerfectFit shutters clip straight onto suitable uPVC window and door frames. Made from waterproof Polysilk Vinyl, they're a practical pick for kitchens and bathrooms.

Twist&Fit Shutters

Plantation shutters without the drill. Twist&Fit shutters use an adjustable tension system to hold the frame in place within a suitable window recess, so there are no fixing holes in the surrounding wall. Handy if you're renting or you've just decorated. Twist, fit, done!

FAQs

Shutters are a little different from your average window dressing. Rather than covering the window with fabric, adjustable louvres let you change how much light comes into the room and how much privacy you have throughout the day.

And it doesn’t end at practicality; they're pretty easy on the eye too. The clean lines of shutters work across both traditional and contemporary interiors, while choosing the colour, material and shutter style gives you plenty of room to make the look your own.

And because your shutters are made to your measurements, they're designed around your particular window rather than being squeezed into a one-size-fits-all solution.

Here's where things get interesting. Not all shutters fit and work in quite the same way.

Plantation shutters are the classic option, fitted around the window to create that instantly recognisable shutter look. Prefer to leave the drill in the toolbox? PerfectFit shutters fit directly to suitable window and door frames without drilling and are made from waterproof Polysilk Vinyl, making them a particularly practical option for moisture-prone rooms. Twist\&Fit shutters offer another no-drill solution, using a tension-based fitting system within a suitable recess.

Not sure which camp you're in yet? Explore our no-drill shutter options and compare the different fitting methods before you commit.

Once you've chosen how you'd like your shutters fitted, think about how much of the window you actually want them to cover.

Cafe-style shutters cover the lower portion of the window while leaving the top open. That makes them particularly handy for street-facing living rooms, kitchens and dining spaces where you'd like some privacy at eye level without losing the daylight from above.

Full-height shutters cover the window from top to bottom for a clean, uniform finish. Adjustable louvres still give you control over light and privacy, but the shutter itself provides full-window coverage.

Want more flexibility? Tier-on-tier shutters have separate upper and lower panels that can be opened independently. Keep the bottom closed for privacy while opening the top, switch things around, or close the lot – your window, your rules.

Choosing your style is half of the fun, but looks aren’t everything. They definitely aren't the only thing to think about when choosing the right material for your shutters.

Real wood can bring natural grain, texture and warmth to the window. Our real wood shutters use lightweight Paulownia hardwood, making them a lovely choice when the natural character of wood is part of the appeal.

Faux wood shutters recreate the look in PVC, with the added benefit of being moisture-resistant and easy to wipe clean. That makes faux wood the more practical choice for bathrooms, kitchens and other humid spaces where real wood isn't recommended.
