'Take a peek at some of the loveliest lockdown window views

Posted 17/07/2020

As lockdown rules begin to loosen and the world starts to awake, we’ve all been looking back and reflecting on the time we’ve been spending in our homes and have come to treasure the little things in life that make it sweet. One of which has been the views from our windows and the scenes on our doorstep. Be it a beach backdrop or the Yorkshire hills, each landscape adds that something special.

To honour some of the picturesque lockdown scenes that have filled our feeds, we launched a competition to find the UK’s best view. We received some truly stunning entries that have made sitting indoors a little less painful and would like to thank everyone for submitting their photos.

We’re pleased to announce that Rachel Wickerson has been crowned our lucky winner after sharing a photo of her home view in Teignmouth, Devon.

Rachel shared this picturesque view of the seaside town in which she has lived for nearly two and a half years. Though she lives alone, Rachel shared with us how her gorgeous view had kept her sane during these trying times. Its calmness and beauty have been a blessing for her and it’s something that she hasn’t taken for granted. When asked how it felt to win the Best View Competition, she said:

“It feels fabulous! I’m really proud that my view has been chosen and that other people appreciate its tranquillity as much as I do.”
