THIS MEASURING GUIDE IS SUITABLE FOR:

Blind components can vary in size, and to ensure proper installation, there will typically be a small gap around the sides of the blind and its fittings. This gap allows the blind to operate smoothly within the recess or mounting space.

ROLLER BLINDS
The fabric on a roller blind is usually 3.5 to 4 cm narrower than the full width of the mechanism, including the brackets and controls. This ensures the fabric rolls up cleanly without catching on the sides.

ROMAN BLINDS
Roman blind fabric is generally 0.5 to 1 cm narrower than the width of the window. This allows for smooth raising and lowering without obstruction.

Using a metal tape measure and a pen/pencil, follow our simple step-by-step guide.

Measure the area where your blind will be installed within the window opening, this is usually as close to the window glass as possible. Ensure you measure to the nearest mm for the best possible fit.

TIP: When measuring, be aware of anything that may get in the way, such as tiling or picture rails.

For roller blinds, if the difference at this point is 20mm or less compared to the width where you intend to fit, you must provide the fitting location as your measurement.

For all other blinds, the gap varies from 0.7cm to 1.5cm available gap. If you are unsure – contact our customer services team.

Measure the width at the top of the recess. This will be your blind width.

Take 3 measurements from the top down, along the left, middle, and right of the recess. The smallest measurement will be your blind drop.
