Discover more about our Skylight Blinds for Velux© Windows

As the UK’s leading supplier of made-to-measure loft and skylight blinds, we can offer you a range that will have something to suit your needs. Not only do they come in a variety of colours, there are also patterned fabrics and even some for children featuring favourite Disney characters. Our blackout range is also particularly popular, and we even offer a full choice of styles including roller, Venetian and even Roman blinds.

The online search facility makes finding the ideal skylight blinds simple: all we need to ensure that it fits perfectly is the maker’s product number or code for the particular window that you have.

Many homes have loft conversions, and even ground floor extensions, which rely on roof windows or skylights as an invaluable way to let in the daylight. But sometimes too much light can get in – which is why you should consider installing an effective solution for your space.

247 Blinds are expert suppliers of loft blinds in a wide range of styles for all major window manufacturers, including VELUX, Fakro, Dakstra and RoofLITE. Designed to fit perfectly, our roof window blinds are made from high-quality material and have a luxury finish.

Are there blinds for Skylights?

There are two main styles of blinds for skylights, the roller-style that sits within a frame; which is mostly found on Velux © windows.  The other is a pleated skylight blind; this uses a top and bottom rail which is either screwed to the window panel frame, or wall to suit.  Both styles are ‘tensioned’ and feature guide wires to avoid the fabric sagging due to weight and gravity.

How do I measure for Skylight blinds?

For our style of skylight blinds, you’ll need to find a code on the window frame itself.  This can be usually found by pulling the window down and open and checking the sides.  You should find a code like GGL-310 somewhere - This indicates your window type.  Otherwise, you’ll need to measure the visible glass size and double check that our blinds, frame and all, will for sure fit your window.

How do Skylight Blinds work?

Our skylight blinds feature a ‘spring’ controlled roller blind, which sits within a special frame made for Velux © -style windows, on special hidden guide wires, hidden behind side channels.  This ensures the blind is cord-free, and doesn’t ‘sag’ like an old-style roller would!

How do I open Skylight Blinds?

Our skylight blinds are a tensioned roller blind, also known as a ‘sprung’ roller. For this, you don’t need to use a control chain to rotate the blind open.  Instead, you slide the blind up and down, using the bottom ‘lip’.  For heights where you struggle to reach, you can buy an extra control rod, which is specially designed to slot into the lip!

How much for Skylight Blinds cost?

Skylight blinds can vary in cost depending on the style and brand you choose.  A ‘designer’, or ‘high-street’ brand costs way more than one of our bespoke, made to measure blinds.  A made to measure skylight roller blind starts at just £20.47!*
